Lost in Time Shawl / Sjal

Äntligen dags att släppa mönstret till sjalen “Lost in Time”.

Finally time to release the “Lost in Time” shawl pattern. The name came to me becouse of the vintage feeling it has and also that the time flies by working on this shawl 🙂 This pattern is a repetition of 12 rows which means you can use any yarn or hook and customizing your shawls size by the number of repetitions.

Tusen tack till Charlotta Hjortbacken (@charlottahjortbacken på Instagram) och Lisa Cook (@lisasattik på Instagram) som provvirkat detta mönster  ❤

  1. Thank you so much for this gorgeous pattern! I’ve made it using yarn in colors that I hoped were similar to those you used. However, I am not happy with my colors & want to make it again with the Scheepjes Catona. Because I wasn’t sure of the weight/number of the yarn, I purchased worsted weight & I it seemed to be too heavy, so I went up a size on my hook. Still too stiff. So in love with your shawl!

    1. Thank you so much! Im not sure exactly how much is used of each colour of Catona since I used scrap yarn. Total wheight says aprox 6 skeins in total. I hope this helpes a little. Have you seen the colour guide?

      1. Hi there! I really love your pattern (thank you for sharing it with us!), so I decided to make the multi-color version. As I know you didn’t have the exact amount of yarn, I decided to write it down as I go:
        179 – Topaz – 67g
        383 – Ginger Gold – 37g
        395 – Willow – 46g
        402 – Silver green – 38g
        393 – Charcoal – 16g
        240 – Amethyst – 32g
        282 – Ultra Violet – 10g
        408 – Old Rose – 5g

The quantities are for Catona yarn, using 4 mm hook and do not include the tassels.

        I hope this helps 🙂

  5. Tack så mycket 😊
This pattern is beautiful, you are such a talented designer. I saw this on Pinterest and I will be following your blog from now on. I have lots of colours of Sirdar cotton dk which I think will be about right for this. I have a queue of projects but this may well find its way to the front!
    Best wishes and happy crocheting

  6. I have just received my yarn to make this in your multi colour version. The yarn and colours are beautiful. Can’t wait to get started. Thank you so much xx

  7. I love this pattern and I am hoping to make it soon. I would like to use the colors from the yarn kit “Royal Starling”. I love the way they look in the Taiga and In the Yarn Garden CAL patterns, but I’m am not quite confident of which position to substitute them in for the green, gold, and purples on the color chart that you have included. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you!

    1. Hi there! I usually try out the colours as I go so this is really hard to answer. There is alot of frogging going on when I make colour schemes 😅 I hope you will find a way that makes you happy 🌸

  8. I know you have heard this a lot, but, thank you so much for this pattern. I have just found your link on facebook, and I’m so glad I did. You are very much appreciated.

  9. Hi, I have just begun and come to round 21 for the second time and do not get the top together. After the last popcorn there is a stitch left before 2 sts space. It’s dont going to look the same as the two earlier popcorn chain dc chain round.

  10. Hello! Thank you for the wonderful pattern, it’s been fun to stitch! I’m currently on row 3 of the border and I was confused for a while until I zoomed in on the photographs. Thank you for making the rows different colors – super helpful to see what is going on! Anyways… the pattern reads: skip 1 dc, 1 sl st in front loop only in next 4 dc, 2 ch, 4 dc. It should clarify that the last 4 dc are also sl st in front loop only. 😊 Thanks again for sharing this wonderful pattern!

  11. I am dying to make this shawl, but am having a hard time downloading it. Is it possible for you to email it to me as a PDF? I hate to put you to this trouble, but I love it so much ❤

  12. Hi there, I love your work and am currently make the Lost in Time shawl but, for some reason, I cannot seem to get the edge a the top to go straight. The whole thing is slanting on both sides so it looks more like a V and I don’t know why. I am following both the written and chart patterns. Could you advise me?Thank you!

  14. hi, I love this pattern and have my wool and want to use a size 3 hook. Im hoping this will be ok. Can you please clarify the stitches you have with an asterix next to them on the pattern. You say that these sticks marked with an asterix can be explained by clicking ‘here’ on the pattern but the link is not live and I cannot find your explanation. How big is each popcorn? I have looked up how to make a popcorn and it varies with each pattern. Is this what is explained somewhere else? Thanks so much!

    1. Hook 3.0 mm is fine, you may just need to make more repetitions of the pattern depending on with size you like. Those stitches are explained in stitch tutorials which you can find under menu here on my blog 🙂

  15. Good evening I am trying to pull up the pattern and I font seem to be able to. The pattern elsewhere…??? Just not sure I gave been trying for about 2 hrs. Thank you Michelle

  16. Very beautiful pattern. May I know what thickness or yarn weight you used (as seen on the specifications on the label). Was it lace (0), fingering (1), sport (2), DK (3)? I’m sure it is not worsted weight. I will just try to look for an equivalent substitute that I can buy in Manila. Thanks!

    1. Thank you! We dont use those terms here :/ but if you look at scheepjes Whirl its a great wheight for this shawl 🙂 the cotton flower yarn I used is three stranded and good for hook 3-4 mm 🙂

    2. Oh, and just to be super clear, it’s a sport (2)–just as you said. I left off the number in my original reply–but I wanted to be clear that we are talking the same language. 🙂
